Environmental Permitting
Our scientists have regional and national experience in environmental permitting for a comprehensive array of different projects of all scales. These projects range from stream restoration and stormwater improvement projects to utility line installations and landfill expansions. Coldwater’s well-trained staff has extensive experience in conducting site assessments, preparing applications, providing agency coordination support, and assisting with permit compliance. We have developed positive relationships with regulatory staff thanks to our honest, consistent, and informed approach to the permitting process. Coldwater offers creative permitting strategies that result in a smooth, efficient permitting process without compromising project goals.
The Lake Avenue Stream and Wetland Restoration Project
What started as a stormwater detention basin with overwhelming permitting challenges became an ecological restoration project with multiple benefits including habitat improvement, floodplain storage, and nutrient retention
Our understanding of the importance of defining permitting strategies early in the design process allowed Coldwater to help maintain project schedules by avoiding extended permit reviews while conducting Permitting for Natural Gas pipeline Construction. Coldwater has provided environmental permitting assistance for over 100 miles of natural gas gathering pipelines in Ohio and West Virginia. Coldwater’s team worked closely with project engineers during the design phase to make alignment adjustments and incorporate construction techniques that minimized wetland, stream, and habitat impacts so that all pipeline construction projects could be authorized by Nationwide Permit and issued Water Quality Certification with no delays. Coldwater delivers permitting efficiency and predictability.
