JOB TITLE: SENIOR ENGINEER/PROJECT MANAGER – CIVIL

Coldwater is currently seeking a senior engineer/project manager for our Lorain, Ohio office to join our growing team.

Job Responsibilities:

      • Scoping, work planning, and completing engineering analysis and products for civil improvement projects, flood mitigation projects, stormwater management systems, stream and wetland restoration, and green infrastructure
      • Act as owner’s agent for the construction of civil construction and restoration projects
      • Develop and/or supervise the development of engineering products including detailed calculations, material quantity takeoffs, hydrological and hydraulic analyses, topographic and bathymetric surveys, construction drawings, bid and contract documents, design packages, cost estimates, project schedules, and technical reports
      • Develop and/or contribute to the development of work scopes, safety plans, and business development proposals
      • Develop subcontractor and vendor scopes of work, competitive bidding, contracting, and work performance
      • Develop and/or supervise the development of engineering-related permitting including local floodplain permits, 404/401, and NPDES permits
      • Supervise the performance of field surveys, investigations, construction administration, and resident engineering
      • Be proficient at managing project tasks independently (e.g., alternatives analyses and detailed designs), while managing task and/or project costs and schedule.
      • Ability to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected
      • Ability to author and present studies at regional and national industry-specific conferences is expected
      • Ability to work outside in heat and cold is expected
      • Efficient use of technology to support remote/work from home activities is expected
      • Willingness to act sustainably, self-engage, continually learn, and teach is expected

Minimum Qualifications:

      • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental, or related Engineering field
      • Ohio PE license (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
      • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, 15 years preferred
      • Previous engineering design and contract document package experience
      • Previous project management experience on large, complex construction projects
      • Previous experience interacting with clients
      • Knowledge of AutoCAD, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office suite

 Preferred Qualifications:

      • M.S. degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental, or related Engineering field
      • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with annual refreshers
      • 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety training
      • Contracting and contract management experience
      • Diverse client-type experience (e.g., Federal, State, Local, Industrial, Commercial, Energy, University)
      • Active in Industry association
      • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading and terrain management
      • Knowledge of GIS applications

Job Title: Construction Project Engineer – Civil, Water Resources

Coldwater is currently seeking a project engineer with a construction management focus for our Lorain, Ohio office to join our growing team.

Job Responsibilities:

      • Site/Civil Construction observation and support
      • Cost estimating and scheduling
      • Planning and design of stream and wetland restoration, stormwater management systems, flood mitigation, green infrastructure projects, and other civil improvements
      • Floodplain and NPDES stormwater permitting
      • Coordination with subconsultants to support project delivery

Minimum Qualifications:

      • Associates Degree in Construction Engineering Technology or similar field
      • At least six months of field experience in civil construction related work
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
      • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
      • Ability to prepare complex reports and problem solve
      • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

 Preferred Qualifications:

      • B.S. degree in Construction Engineering Technology or Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field
      • Experience with AutoCAD, GIS, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS
      • Previous experience with Water Resources project construction a plus
