Job Title:  Construction Project Representative

Location: Lorain, Ohio

Our core services include environmental permitting, stream and wetland restoration, green infrastructure design, stormwater management, grant writing, and watershed planning. We are looking for a talented and motivated construction project representative experienced in construction management who can help us deliver high-quality results to our clients. The selected applicant will be expected to lead the construction management of a large innovative dredged material dewatering and reuse project, understand the facility operations for start-up and future operations management. This innovative project will require full-time construction oversight for the next 1.5 years, after which the position will become dredge facility operations management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as owner’s agent for the construction of public works facilities
  • Manage the project schedule and budget, tracking and approving contractor payment applications
  • Interface with the construction contractor to ensure the proper implementation of the design plans and specifications
  • Document the project progress and technical specification implementation
  • Perform on-site inspections during construction and operation
  • Observe and document the performance of environmental sample collection, geotechnical sample collection, field surveys, investigations, and construction management
  • Perform coordination between several third-party Contractors to ensure site health and safety, process operation, and regulatory requirements are met
  • Manage project tasks independently, performing safe work practices, and developing written reports for final internal reviews
  • Travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations
  • Efficiently use technology to support remote work
  • Act sustainably, self-engage, continually learn, and teach

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. or Associates degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or other related Construction or Engineering field
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Previous construction oversight experience
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Self-motivated, organized and able to work independently
  • Ability work outside for extended periods of time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred but not required
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with annual refreshers
  • 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety training
  • Contracting and contract management experience

Pay: Commensurate with experience

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Lorain, OH 44052: Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work

The position will require fieldwork during all seasons. Job Responsibilities:

  • Planning and design of stream and wetland restoration, green infrastructure, stormwater management systems, and flood mitigation projects
  • Perform work within urban, rural, riverine, lacustrine, and wetland/marsh locations
  • Develop engineering products including detailed calculations, material quantity takeoffs, hydrological and hydraulic analyses, topographic and bathymetric surveys, drawings, bid and contract documents, design packages, cost estimates, project schedules, and technical reports
  • Contribute to the development of work scopes, safety plans, and business development proposals
  • Develop subcontractor and vendor scopes of work, competitive bidding, contracting, and work performance
  • Develop engineering-related permitting including local floodplain permits and NPDES permits
  • Be proficient at managing project tasks independently (e.g., alternatives analyses and detailed designs), performing safe work practices, and developing written reports for final internal reviews and managing task and/or project costs and schedule
  • Ability to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations, is expected
  • Ability to work outside in heat and cold is expected
  • Efficient use of technology to support remote/work from home activities is expected

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering field
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Previous project experience on stream and wetland restoration and/or green infrastructure projects
  • Previous project management experience
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, and Microsoft Office
