Residential/Commercial Green Infrastructure

Residential/Commercial Green Infrastructure

Thinking “green” has turned into an everyday practice for many people.  So if you’re a homeowner who wants to create a stormwater management system for your home or a commercial business-owner who needs help managing your  site stormwater runoff, Coldwater can help with the assessment, design, and monitoring of your green infrastructure system.

At our Galena office we have installed an example stormwater management system for residential homeowners to follow.  It includes two rain barrels and an approximately 130 square foot rain garden that treats approximately 1,000 square feet of roof runoff. Rain gardens, like any landscaping in your yard, can include a wide variety of plants, including wildflowers, shrubs, and trees.  We designed our rain garden to bloom in early July with red, white, and blue flowers, but we can work with you to tailor a planting plan that fits with your existing landscaping.  Planting considerations often include deer resistance, bird and butterfly attraction, color, blooming period, and hardiness.  Our rain garden was constructed using local contractors and suppliers.  Below is a breakdown of the costs associated with construction of our system.

Coldwater Stormwater Management System Costs:

  • Excavation: $550.00
  • Engineered Soil (Supplied and Installed): $591.25
  • Leaf Compost: $32.10
  • Native Plants: $250.19
  • Rain Barrels & Downspout Diverters: $468.37
  • Downspout Re-Direction: $315.00

TOTAL: $2,206.91
